Toni Stevens
Toni has done a variety of different jobs and studies before deciding on social work. Through her studies, she learned about the ongoing removal of Aboriginal children from their families, communities and culture.
This lead her to look at how she could assist in Aboriginal lead programs to improve the outcomes of Aboriginal children and families in systems that are hostile and unforgiving to them. This brought her to volunteer for Kinship Connections.
She is always learning better ways to be an ally to the Aboriginal community and realises that she will never be an expert.
She always tries to walk the talk and when in doubt tells herself to Suit Up, Show Up, Shut Up & Support.
